Bear Bin Program
Protect Your Property. Protect Our Bears.
The Township of Georgian Bay is making bear-resistant bins available to residents through a bulk purchasing program designed to reduce human/bear interactions and keep wildlife wild.

Why do bear bins matter?
Improperly stored garbage attracts bears to residential areas. Once bears become accustomed to human food sources, conflicts increase, creating risks for residents and wildlife alike.
Bear-resistant bins help:
- Reduce human-bear interactions
- Prevent litter and waste spread
- Protect local ecosystems and waterways
- Support safer communities
By securing household waste, residents help keep bears relying on natural food sources and preserve Georgian Bay's unique environment.
