Public Skating

The Township of Georgian Bay offers public skating at the MacTier Memorial Arena between September 21 to March 19.  If you would like to book the ice for a private rental please visit our rental page: ice rental.

Public skating rules and regulations

1. 1. All participants on the ice during public skate are strongly recommended to wear a CSA approved helmet
   2. All participants on the ice during Stick and Puck must wear a CSA approved helmet, face and eye protection and gloves
   3. Hockey sticks and pucks are only permitted on the ice surface during Stick and Puck program times.  All other times sticks, pucks, balls, chairs or strollers are not permitted on the ice surface.
   4. Wheelchairs/sledges are permitted on the ice provided wheelchair wheels are cleaned and inspected prior to entering ice surface
   5. Only participants wearing skates are allowed on the ice
   6. No food or drink on the ice surface.
   7. No inappropriate behavior (i.e. behavior that may interfere with the safety of any skater such as tag, racing, pushing, tripping, and checking).
   8. Foul, abusive or obscene language is not permitted

MacTier Arena Skating Times

• Monday 3:00 pm to 3:50 pm and 4:30 pm to 5:20 pm Public Skate
• Tuesday 4:30 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.  Stick and Puck (helmets required)
• Thursday 4:00 pm to 4:50 pm Public Skate
• Friday 7:00 pm to 7:50 pm Public Skate
• Friday 8:00 p.m. to 8:50 p.m. Stick and Puck (helmets required)

Public Skating and Stick and Puck Fees:  

• Child (6-14):  $1.00 
• Student (15-18):  $2.00
• Adult 18+: $3.00
• Senior 65+:  $2.00
