    The Township of Georgian Bay Council Awards Community Grants Supporting Local Initiatives

    TOWNSHIP OF GEORGIAN BAY, ON – November 26, 2025 – The Township of Georgian Bay is pleased to announce the successful recipients of the 2025 Municipal Grant Program – for a total of $44,600 in community grant funding.

    The following community organizations submitted their application by the November 11 deadline, with delegations to Council happening prior to Council approving the 2026.

    TOWNSHIP OF GEORGIAN BAY, ON – September 2, 2025 – Big changes are on the horizon for MacTier, and the Township of Georgian Bay wants residents to be at the heart of it!

    The Township of Georgian Bay is excited to announce the launch of Refresh MacTier, a new community engagement project designed to reimagine and enhance four key areas of MacTier:

    • Stewart Lake Beach Area 
    • The Downtown Core,
    • Mrs. C.

    TOWNSHIP OF GEORGIAN BAY, ON – August 29, 2025 – The Township of Georgian Bay continues to be deeply concerned about the recent incidents of firearms being discharged. This is occurring carelessly on Crown land, within hydro corridors near MacTier and other areas of our Township.

    Open House for Floating Accommodations

    Floating accommodation units or floating cottages on the Township's waterways and have led to community concerns with respect to matters that include land use compatibility, nuisance, safety and environmental impacts.  In response, the Township has initiated a Zoning By-law Amendment to regulate floating accommodations and wants to hear from you before any changes are made.

    Grant from Ontario Government

    $10,000 OTF Grant from the Ontario Government Gives Library a Technology Boost

    Honey Harbour, ON – On Saturday, MPP Graydon Smith was at the Georgian Bay Public Library to hear more about the $10,000 Resilient Communities Fund grant it received earlier this year from the provincial government’s Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF). The grant, applied for through the Township, was used to purchase a set of laptops for digital literacy training and organizational flexibility.

    OBD Developments Inc. Appeal OLT Decision 23-000741
    Township of Georgian Bay confirms position regarding appeal to OLT Decision 23-000741

    Georgian Bay, Ontario OBD Developments Inc, known as Oak Bay Developments, were successful in their appeal at the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT-23-000741) with respect to rock crushing at their Summerside development, in Port Severn through a decision dated the 15th of April, 2024.

    As a reminder, in 2022 Oak Bay Developments submitted a Zoning By-law amendment application (Z22-12) to temporarily permit rock.
