Council for the 2022-2026 Term
The Township of Georgian Bay Council is comprised of seven elected members. The Mayor is elected at large; two District Councillors for Wards 1 & 3 and Wards 2 & 4; and one Councillor per Ward.

Check out our Council Calendar for scheduled Council and Committee meeting dates. All members of the public are welcome to attend. Meetings take place in the Township's Council Chamber at 99 Lone Pine Road in Port Severn.

Mayor Peter Koetsier is back for a second term. He enjoys serving the residents of Georgian Bay. Focused on environmental protections, sustainability, and addressing climate change, Mayor Koetsier is wanting to help build a future here for generations to come. He brings with him four years of Council experience, as well as decades of senior level administration and volunteering with organizations supporting Georgian Bay. This term he looks forward to resolving the solid waste issue and working with staff and Council to create a better cohesive planning program. Mayor Koetsier will also be dedicating his time to achieving a more equitable relationship with the District of Muskoka and improving relations with our Indigenous neighbours. All to ensure a sustainable future for everyone. |

District Councillor Wards 1 & 3 | |

Councillor Brian Bochek is ready to embark on his ninth year as a Councillor for the Township of Georgian Bay, and now this term also serving on the District of Muskoka Council. With over 40 years as a resident, and business owner, he brings with him vast knowledge of operations, construction, tourism, and hospitality. Councillor Bochek looks forward to utilizing his expertise to assist the Township with the strategic plan, creating a balanced approach to how the municipality handles land use planning and economic development. As a returning Councillor of the community, Councillor Bochek continues to work diligently for the land developers, businesses and residents and provide them with a voice, so they can continue to receive value for their tax dollars. |

District Councillor for Wards 2 & 4 | |

Georgian Bay is home to Councillor Peter Cooper, who was acclaimed for his third term as District Councillor for Wards 2 and 4. Councillor Cooper is focused on protecting our naturally beautiful landscape, a designated UNESCO Biosphere, he strives to keep preservation a priority. He brings with him years of service to our municipality, as well as his experience at senior level management.

Councillor for Ward 1 | |

Councillor Steven Predko is a resident of Go Home Lake and Councillor for Ward 1. He is eager to provide support to Council, ratepayers and staff. His experience in developing strategic and operational plans will come as an asset to Council and staff as they embark on updating the Strategic Plan for the 2022-2026 term. Councillor Predko also brings with him expansive knowledge in communications and developing relationships, which will assist him as he makes his mark through the important issues at hand. |

Councillor for Ward 2 | |

Councillor Stephen Jarvis has been a lifelong seasonal resident of the coastal Georgian Bay. Acclaimed for his second term for Ward 2, he looks forward to working with new and seasoned members of Council. Councillor Jarvis knew early on that he could contribute constructively to the community. His expertise in sales, marketing and working in a team environment provide him with the skills necessary to assist Council in providing direction for a prosperous municipality and to improve core services. He is looking forward to growing the relationship with the local Indigenous communities. |

Councillor Ward 3 | |

Inspired by the Township of Georgian Bay and the residents, newly elected Councillor Kristian Graziano wants to give back to the community by being an advocate for his constituents. His experience in International Relations as well as an executive on the Six Mile Lake Association will assist him in his new role as Councillor. He is looking to make an impact on the community through various methods, but mostly through engagement and relationship building.

Councillor for Ward 4 | |

Councillor Allan Hazelton represents constituents in Ward 4. With his forty plus years of volunteer experience with organizations like the Georgian Bay Association, Honey Harbour Association, Go Home Lake Cottagers Association, and the Ontario Onsite Wastewater Association. This has involved representing cottager and resident interests to local government. Councillor Hazelton will continue to focus on environmental priorities and projects as well as supporting the rest of Council and staff with effectiveness and efficiencies on providing service to the community. |
