Committee Applications
The Township of Georgian is seeking interested community members to apply to volunteer positions on various committees for the 2022-2026 term. Applications are due by end of day on Friday, April 28, 2023. Applicants must be able to attend daytime meetings which are in-person at 99 Lone Pine Road, Port Severn or 9 Haig Street, MacTier, and sometimes by electronic method such as Zoom.

Applications are reviewed by Council and appointed by by-law, all applicants will be notified by the Clerks Office.
The Committee Terms of Reference outlines mandate, composition, and expectations of committee members for all committees, which may be amended from time to time by Council. It is recommended applicants review this prior to applying.
The establishment of committees, appointment of members, meeting schedules, and their functions may be amended from time to time.
MacTier Arena Advisory Committee

This Committee will be comprised of volunteers who are active users and/or board members of a user group of the arena, and/or engaged community members within MacTier. Members will be able to represent a cross-section of the public who understand the needs of the community and the functions of a community arena with respect to the user groups and events it can host.
Property Standards Appeal Committee

The Property Standards By-law prescribes property standards for the maintenance and occupancy of all property within the municipality, and includes provision for the establishment of the Property Standards Appeal Committee. The Committee has the following powers under the Ontario Building Code:
- Confirm the Order or Orders served by the Municipality;
- Quash the Order; and
- Amend the Order or extend the deadline for compliance.
Members receive a remuneration of $100 per meeting attended.
Meetings take place as required; scheduled upon receipt of an appeal from an Order issued pursuant to the Property Standards By-law.
