The Township of Georgian Bay is home to many beautiful green spaces and public parks. We're proud to have Muskoka's only national park! Many of our parks and beaches provide access for swimming, canoeing and fishing.

Baxter Bark Park

A fun space for your furry friend!

Located at the Baxter Ward Community Centre, 25 Community Centre Dr., Port Severn, this new dog park offers a safe, fenced area for dogs to run, play, and socialize off-leash. 
Dog Park Rules: 
  • Use park at your own risk.
  • Owners are legally responsible for the behaviour of their dog(s) at all times.
  • Dogs must be leashed while entering and exiting the park.
  • Dog waste must be cleaned up by their owners IMMEDIATELY.
  • Owners must be within the dog park and supervising their dog with leash readily available, all dogs must be under voice control.
  • Dog handlers must be at least 16 years of age.
  • No DANGEROUS dogs or dogs with a history of aggression are permitted in the park. Any dog exhibiting signs of aggression shall be removed immediately.
  • Dogs must be immunized and licensed. No unfixed dogs will be permitted.

Georgian Bay Islands National Park

Georgian Bay Islands National Park is located a 15-minute boat ride from Honey Harbour.

Operating dates

Though the park is open year round, services run from mid-May to Thanksgiving. Access during winter months involves over ice travel. View the complete park schedule.

Park fees

Admission to Parks Canada places for youth 17 and under is free! Other admission fees still apply.

Rendezvous Park

Formerly known as Honey Harbour Park (17 Bluewater Road, Honey Harbour) has:

  • Pickleball Courts
  • Outdoor ice rink/court
  • Green space
  • Picnic area
  • Playground

McCrae Lake Conservation Reserve

McCrae Lake Conservation Reserve contains 2,039 hectares of Crown land where visitors can enjoy outdoor recreational activities such as:

  • Hiking
  • Camping
  • Canoeing
  • Fishing
  • Snowshoeing

Directions

Take Highway 400 southbound on/off ramp to Georgian Bay Road to access the McCrae Lake Conservation Trail.

 

*If the parking lot is full there is No Parking on the off-ramp or in the ditches along the roadside. Your vehicle will be towed.*

McCrae Lake Conservation Reserve is managed under the Ministry of Natural Resources (Parry Sound District).

Mrs. “C” Activity Park

Mrs. "C" Activity Park (2 Muskoka Road, MacTier) has volleyball nets, benches and green space.

Port Severn Park

Port Severn Park (17 Port Severn Road N, Port Severn) has a public beach, splash pad, playground, pavilion, picnic area, docks, and washrooms.

Free resident parking

Make sure to hang your resident parking permit to park for free.

Regatta Beach

Regatta Beach (Go Home Lake, water access only) has a pavilion, public beach, swim platform and two floating docks.

Stewart Lake Beach

Stewart Lake Beach (42 Stewart Street, MacTier) has an accessible public beach (mobimat), playground, change rooms, swim platform, floating docks, and pavilion.

There are two marked walking trails in Georgian Bay:

We continue to work toward connecting our trails throughout Georgian Bay. Visit Muskoka Trails Council for exciting changes and developments around the region.

Donate a park bench

You can donate existing or new furnishings and a donor recognition plaque will be installed on or near your donation. Our Park Furniture Donation Program offers three donation options:

  • Bench
  • Waste receptacle
  • Picnic table

Please call for pricing. We will schedule a site visit with you after receiving a completed application to choose a location for your generous donation. Donations are tax deductible.

Finding Crown land

Most Crown land and conservation reserves are available year-round for personal, temporary use, at no cost. Some restrictions apply to certain activities and areas. Contact a Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry district office to find out if local restrictions apply to your activity.
