The Georgian Bay Fire Department serves our community when help is needed the most. Our Fire Department has three fire stations located in Honey Harbour, Port Severn and MacTier with over 45 volunteer firefighters. Volunteer firefighters receive monetary compensation for training sessions and response to emergency calls.

Recruitment Process and Important Dates

 Stage 1 - Recruitment Information Sessions

July 2nd, 2024, at 7:00 PM,

Georgian Bay Twp. Station 3, 14 Bressette Rd, Port Severn

Stage 2 - Application Submission

Complete the application form in the Recruitment Orientation Guide and drop it off at the municipal office.

  • Selected applicants will proceed to Stage 3.

Stage 3 - Job Specific Physical Testing

*A completed, signed Medical Examination Report must be submitted before physical testing*

Physical testing assesses your performance in various job-related tasks needed while firefighting. Only selected applicants who provide a satisfactory Medical Examination Report, Consent Waiver and Release Form will have the opportunity to participate in physical testing.

 Stage 4 - Interview

The Fire Chief, with assistance from other staff members, will interview you as part of the selection process. You may be asked to bring additional documentation or proof of your credentials.

  • Selected applicants may be offered a volunteer firefighter position.
