License of Occupation

Often, instead of purchasing lands owned by the Township (Shore Road Allowance or Road Allowance), abutting property owners will apply for a License of Occupation, which grants them exclusive rights to the land, not ownership, for a much lower price.
The application fee is $350.00 and needs to be renewed every year (the renewal rate is $200.00 annually). Also, the applicant will need to supply a Certificate of Insurance for $5 million showing the Township of Georgian Bay as co-insured. This is supplied when / if the application is approved by Council.
